This is Range Rover's answer to the Jaguar F-Pace, a high end sister car that will slot between the Evoque and Range Rover Sport. Pricing will start at $50,895 and should compete with others in the sport luxury crossover category as well as traditional SUV category with the likes of the BMW X5, Audi A6 Allroad, Mercedes-Benz GLE-class Coupe, and Volvo XC90 and V90. The Velar will also come equipped with Range Rovers air ride suspension that lets it raise itselse to a maximum of 9.9 inches. Engine choices for the U.S. will range from Ingenium 2.0L diesel making 180hp/317 lb-ft; a 2/0L turbo gas engine producing 247hp, and finally a 380hp 3.0L V6 supercharged gas engine all connected to an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission with full time AWD. But just stand back and take a look at the thing. It's GORGEOUS and unmistakably Range Rover.
As far as mid-cycle refreshes go, this one is both a hit and a miss. Gone is the v6 model, but we've gained a whole lot more. The new car now has magnetic ride control, 12in digital display, LED headlights and turn signals, 10-speed automatic transmission option, upgraded chassis, revised front and rear styling, and up to 12 options for wheel styles. The front of the car is now lower and sleeker, but i'll reserve my judgement on the styling until I see one in the flesh.
It just occurred to me that we are living in the future and that KITT from Knight Rider is practically a reality. Technology has advanced so much, that our cars now practially drive themselves. It can park itself, and can be summoned by a simple command from our cellphones. It can keep pace with traffic, avoid accidents, and pretty much go from point A to point B with a simple input of your desired destination. A world of information is always at your reach with integrated voice command from Google Android or Amazon Alexa. Cars can talk to other cars, reach out to emergency services, and even self diagnose problems and notify you when it's time to get serviced and repaired. Even "turbo boost" functionality is a reality with electric motors that provide quick bursts of additional power for performance. Even the active aero wing on the Porsche Panamera is close enough to the "Super Pursuit" mode in the TV show. Wow. We are truly living in the future.

Ferrari is unleashing the replacement for the F12 Berlinetta with the new 812 Superfast. It looks gorgeous and is certainly fast. Top speed is 211 mph, and 0-60 is about 2.9s from a 790hp V12 engine. 790hp from a new 6.5 liter V12, that also makes 530 lb-ft of torque. Other features include a dual clutch gearbox and amazingly beautiful looks.
The ultra-luxury SUV segment is getting a little bit more crowded with the introduction of the Audi Q8 Concept. This full sized SUV will arrive sometime in 2019 to compete against the likes of the Bentley Bentayga and the Maserati Levante. While the car will be named Q8, the actual size is a bit smaller than the current Q7. However, it will feature a more radical swooping roofline to help convey a sportier sense of style. The car will come as a hybrid only, powered by a 330hp gas engine complemented with a 100KW electric motors through an AWD Quattro drivetrain.
Kia gets serious about performance with the release of the new Stinger GT. Packing a 365hp 3.3L Twin Turbo V6, the new car is likely to compete against BMW's 440i MSport or the Audi S5 Sportback. And Kia means business too with the car packing Brembo brakes, uad exhausts, a mechanical limited differential, a RWD chassis and aggressive styling. To drive the message home even further, the car will feature a heads up display that shows your G-Force readings, lap times, and an adaptive suspension system that's been Nurburgring tested. All this while undercutting the competition by thousands of dollars. Also.. did I mention that she's a damn beauty to look at? Watch out.. Kia is gunning for you.

Here's a glimpse of what Nissan says is the new direction in styling for its autonomous cars. The sharply creased design style is domincated by their V shaped grill that will light up during autonomous driving mode. On the inside, the car is nearly all screen with a very wide display that flanks nearly the width of the cabin. Suicide rear doors give the car a very airy feel, but will no doubt not make it to production when this care becomes a reality. Is this concept car a preview hint of the next Nissan Altima? We

Volkswagen is showing off their latest interpretation of the microbus idea with the all electric I.D. Buzz Concept. The new concept car features autonomous driving features, will go up to 270 miles on a charge, and seat up to 8 passengers. Styling is immediately reminiscent of the classic VW Bus and is instantly recogizable as the iconic hippy mode of transport yet it has been thoroughly refreshed and modernized. Here is Jaguar's vision of their future electric car. The I-Pace is a cab forward SUV that seats 5, yet features a nice sporty cab forward design that feels very sporty. Power comes from a 90kWh lithium-ion battery that should propel the car to a range of about 220 miles, while surrounding its passengers in typical Jaguar luxury. Unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the new car will arrive in 2017 and should be on sale in 2018. While this is just a concept for now, it does feature a ton of great details that will hopefully come to production. Features such as the LED lit roof, the huge touchscreen interface, the floating center console, as well as a full range of connectivity apps.
