Cars these days all seem to be shades of white, grey, or black. What happened to all the crazy beautiful colors? Sure Dodge and Porsche and Lamborghini do offer a nice range of colors, but these are usually exceptions to the rule. Take the ND Miata for instance.. do we really need 2 shades of white, a grey, a black, with only a red and a sort of blue to round out the range? Where are the options? A color can dramatically change a car's personality from the sleek sophistication of a British Racing Green to a fun Neon Green to a carefree Happy Yellow. We need more colors! So here are a few photoshops I have just finished to show what a colorful ND Miata range could look.
Set your calendars for November 18. Clarkson, Hammond, and May are back with their new show streaming on Amazon Prime.
BMW showed it's new Concept X2 in Paris today and it's gorgeous. It will slot in above the X1 and will start off as a FWD model. A xDrive AWD version will join the lineup later on and a possible M version may come after that. No word on price, engine, or specs yet, but please stay tuned.
Here is Jaguar's vision of their future electric car. The I-Pace is a cab forward SUV that seats 5, yet features a nice sporty cab forward design that feels very sporty. Power comes from a 90kWh lithium-ion battery that should propel the car to a range of about 220 miles, while surrounding its passengers in typical Jaguar luxury. Unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the new car will arrive in 2017 and should be on sale in 2018. While this is just a concept for now, it does feature a ton of great details that will hopefully come to production. Features such as the LED lit roof, the huge touchscreen interface, the floating center console, as well as a full range of connectivity apps. And it won't be a slouch either with 516-lb ft of torque and full time AWD from the electric motors. Read on for videos, wallpapers, and specs.
Mad Mike is at it again with his RADBUL Drift RX8. But.. did it get upstaged by the right hand drive C10 pickup? SO COOL!
Want to jump right into racing? Audi has you covered with their new RS 3 LMS. Built around the new roadgoing sedan, the race car packs 330hp 2.0L turbo 4 cylinder engine that actually makes less power than the standard car's 2.5L 400hp engine. But what it lacks in power, it makes up in handling and grip. The RS 3 LMS is built to fit the TCR league standards and can reach 150mph in 4.5 seconds. The car features performance enhancements including upgraded brakes, body panels, wings and spoilers, a wider track and safety gear required to go racing. All this for $130,000. Sounds like a bargain.
Hyundai gets serious about performance and has unleashed a concept race car to promote their new N high performance division. This RN30 Concept is built off the new Hyundai i30 features a 2.0L turbo engine making 375hp engine and 451 Nm of torque. Managing all this power is a dual clutch transmission and putting power down to an AWD system. And it looks great too! Continue reading for press release and wallpapers.
The McLaren P1 is monster.. which has just been taken down by a BAC Mono at the Anglesey Circuit.
Mazda has released new photos of their 2016 SEMA concepts and features the new RF (retractable Fastback) as well as an update of last year's Speedster. They updated the Speedster for 2016 by shaving an additional 100 lbs off the weight. The car now weighs a very scant 1980 lbs. Sitting next to the Speedster is the new RF Kuro concept. It features many of the same parts found on the MX-5 Global Cup Racer such as the adjustable suspension and upgraded Brembo brakes in a much more street friendly package. I want them both!
The epic drag race is finally here. We've already seen the Rimac destroy the LeFerrari but can the Rimac Concept One take on the Porsche 918 Spyder? Check out the video below.
The wildest concept car of the Paris Auto Show title probably goes to the Renault Trezor Concept. This thing is insame! The entire top of the car slides up and forward to enable driver and passengery entry and exit, and the shape of the is pure sex. Powering the car is a drivetrain taken directly from Formula E race cars and make 350 HP and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque. The car can reach 0-62 mph in less than four seconds. We doubt Renault will ever put this car into production but it sure is pretty to look at.
Here's your best look yet at what the 2017 Honda Civic Typ-R will probably look like. While this is officially just a prototype version, you can be sure that the final product will look pretty much spot on. The rumor is that the new car will receive a 2.0L turbo engine making 340hp, but will not feature AWD like its competitors the Focus RS and Golf R. No official pricing has been released either, but some people are saying it will start at $33K, thus undercutting the competition.
